Mr. Ilija Studen, President of the Management Board of STUDEN Holding and CEO of STUDEN Global Dubai, was one of the participants in the panel session entitled “Us and them: Where is Europe headed?”, held as part of the ninth “The Dubai Sugar Conference”.
The panel session was moderated by Peter de Kler, Senior Economist, International Sugar Organization (ISO). In the session also participated John Adams, Director of Sugar Research, GlobalData, then Marion Hoff, Sales Director Europe, Tereos and Josien Hermans, Chief Commercial Officer, Cosun Beet Company.
Mr. Studen spoke, among the other things, about the fact that the European market, when it comes to sugar, is more and more dependent on the prices on the world market, and that our and other business groups have been facing this for the last few years, and that the synergy of all participants in the industry is necessary, if we want to ensure the safe placement of goods, from procurement to sale.
Presenting Mr. Studen as a representative of a company that is one of the leaders in the sugar industry in the Balkans and in Europe, moderator Peter de Kler emphasized that it is always impressive to see that there are still family companies, companies that bear the family name and operate in the sugar industry at such a significant international level.
