11th STUDEN Holding Open Door Days Launched with a Humane Act

Datum: 02.09.2015.

Brčko, 2 September 2015 – STUDEN Holding and BIMAL Company Open Door Days began with an organised campaign of voluntary blood donation by these companies’ employees, which has been held in Brčko today, in cooperation with the Blood Transfusion Service of the PHI „Medical Centre“ Brčko.

Twenty employees of BIMAL Brčko refinery and other STUDEN Holding member companies participated in the fifth consecutive STUDEN Holding blood donation campaign, thus once again providing a significant support to the work of Blood Transfusion Service in this local community.

Head of the Blood Transfusion Service, Prim.dr. Azrija Pašalić points out that regular blood donation campaigns carried out by these companies certainly strengthen the stability of operation of Blood Transfusion Service and the level of confidence of patients from the Brčko District area, which is required for the Service’s unobstructed operation. „Healthy, donated blood has a shelf life of 35 days, so it is necessary to keep replenishing the blood supplies, which are in constant deficit due to the large number of patients in need of healthy blood. This is why organised blood donation campaigns, such as these regular STUDEN Holding and BIMAL campaigns, significantly contribute to the work of the Blood Transfusion Service”, Prim. Pašalić stated.

With these campaigns, STUDEN Holding seeks to lead by example and encourage other associations and individuals to donate blood, because blood is the only medicine that cannot be bought. „STUDEN Holding carries out a series of campaigns that have a wide-ranging social significance for the Brčko District. As a company, we are especially proud of the regular blood donation campaigns for the reason that what makes this campaign possible is our employees’ humane spirit, as they recognise the importance of blood donation and support the company in these activities”, said Nataša Pucar, STUDEN Holding and BIMAL Corporate Communications Director.
