Brcko, 18 June 2015 – STUDEN Holding President of the Board and BIMAL CEO Ilija Studen met in Sarajevo with the Federal Minister for European and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Sebastian Kurz.
During the Republic of Austria’s Federal Minister’s visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ilija Studen discussed with Minister Kurz the business conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the problems associated with the development of the country’s economy and the functioning of the state apparatus that should go hand in hand with this development, as is the case in the European Union.
Minister Kurz’s meeting with Austrian investor Ilija Studen is a recognition of the country’s largest investment in the food industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina. STUDEN Holding, led by Ilija Studen, with its Austrian partners and manufacturers i.e. AGRANA Group and VFI has directed the investments worth over EUR 100 million in the development of the largest agro-industrial complex in BiH, within which factories BIMAL j.s.c. and STUDEN-AGRANA Sugar Refinery Ltd. currently operate.
The problems associated with the economic growth in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which were discussed at the meeting, are mostly related to inadequate functioning of state institutions, which should work to support the country’s economic development and provide necessary services to the country’s economy, as is the case in Austria and other EU countries.
