Edible oil factory BIMAL d.d. and Public Utility Enterprise Komunalno Brcko have been cooperating with local authorities in Brcko District since the beginning of the current flood crisis.
For the purpose of supplying the population with drinking water, in its production units BIMAL jsc blows 10 liter canisters and since Friday, 16 May 2014, in a coordinated action of BIMAL factory and Public Utility Enterprise Komunalno Brcko canisters are filled with drinking water and supplied to Brcko area and its surroundings.
The total of 180,000 liters of drinking water, that is, 18,000 10-liter canisters has been prepared since Friday and successively delivered to the most vulnerable areas of Brcko, Samac, Modrica, Doboj, Maglaj and Orasje.
BIMAL, the one and only factory to produce edible oil in Bosnia and Herzegovina and STUDEN – AGRANA, the sole sugar refinery, have been actively involved in minimizing the consequences of floods from the beginning of the flood crisis. The Civil Protection Service has been provided with Big Bags i.e. 1000 kg bags, used to transport sugar in normal circumstances, are now filled with sand and used for protection of embankments of the Sava River. A series of activities has also been initiated aimed at supplying the most threatened areas in wider environs primarily with water and basic foodstuffs, oil, flour and sugar.
Public Utility Enterprise Komunalno Brcko with its operational units Power Distribution, Water and Sewerage and Waste Management is actively involved in sanitation of consequences of flooding, torrents and landslides. Moreover, Komunalno Brcko’s mobile crews are working in the field 24 hours a day to ensure electricity and water supply.
BIMAL Edible Oil Factory, STUDEN-AGRANA Sugar Refinery and Public Utility Enterprise Komunalno Brcko will continue to undertake actions aimed at helping the most vulnerable areas to eliminate and recover from the consequences of floods as soon as possible.
