Palmer visited Agro-industrial complex of STUDEN Holding in Brčko

Brčko, 06.07.2021 – Special Representative of the State Department for the Western Balkans Matthew Palmer visited the biggest Agro-industrial complex in BiH and met with the President of the Board of STUDEN Holding, Ilija Studen. Subject of the meeting in Brčko was the investments of STUDEN Holding in countries of Western Balkans. The meeting was also attended by the Principal Deputy of the High Representative and Supervisor for Brčko District Michael Scanlan.

“Supporting and stimulating the long-term economic development in BiH and countries in the region is our prioritized position. STUDEN Holding crates possibilities which connect the markets, and that is the confirmation of successful investments“ said Palmer.

Investments of STUDEN Holding in Brčko and Bosnia and Herzegovina started in 2002 with takeover of the Edible oil factory BIMAL, and after that a cycle of investments followed as well as construction of the Agro-industrial complex in Brčko, where Sugar refinery STUDEN-AGRANA and MINGOS coffee production are located, as well as other service companies.

“Business plans of STUDEN Holding include various investments, primarily in production, distribution and logistics, which enable our business model to have positive impact on economic environment of the countered where we operate. Engagement of the group starts from Austria where our headquarters are located, and in last 30 years the focus of production investments was on the Western Balkans, primarily in BiH, Serbia and Slovenia” said the President of the Board of STUDEN Holding, Ilija Studen.

The Principal Deputy of the High Representative and Supervisor for Brčko District Michael Scanlan pointed out the importance of latest economic shifts in the District which will reflect on the entire BiH, and turned the attention to the project of first business zone in Brčko. “Through the initiative and investments of STUDEN Group, first phase of the construction of business zone will be implemented this year, which is a great infrastructure resource of the economy in general“ Scanlan said.

Strengthening of the business community by means of creating of stable and sustainable companies which successfully operate on local, but also on global market, is a part of business goals of STUDEN Group. The future plans of business group were discussed at the meeting, as well as their impact on the economic development of the region.
